karthik calling karthik

Karthik (Farhan) is timid fellow forever bullied by his boss Kamath (Ram Kapoor) and his workmates. Even his landlord spares no opportunity in pestering him. Karthik is silently in love with the hottest gal in his office architect Shonali Mukherjee (Deepika). But she doesn’t even know that he exists despite working together for years. Karthik keeps getting nightmares of one childhood incident wherein he feels he was responsible for his elder brother’s death. He consults a psychiatrist (Shefali Shah) for the same. One day as his sufferings from the hands of his boss and life in general become unbearable he decides to commit to suicide. Just when when he is about to pop sleeping pills to end his life his landline phone rings. A voice sounding similarly like him tells him its Karthik on the other end and it is no one else but himself. At first Karthik doesn’t believe it and tries to find from the phone company office if such a call actually came. But no such record is shown. Then again same time next day that’s 5 am in the morning he gets a call again with Karthik calling at the other end. Intrigued he gets talking to him. The caller sympathises with Karthik and guides him to become a better and successful person. As Karthik follows the instructions his life changes over night. Not only does he gets Shonali whom he had been dreaming about since many years but also gets a chance to get even with his bully boss and gets a hot shot job profile for himself in the same company where he was insulted. The calls keep coming daily at 5 am and Karthik is happy having found a guide. The caller however cautions Karthik that he should not talk about this secret to anyone. But in a weak moment, Karthik makes the mistake and reveals about the calls to Shonali. He not only stops at that but on Shonali’s insistence avoids picking up further calls. What hell is unleashed on Karthik by the mysterious caller and how Karthik faces his demons forms the rest of the film.

VEER 2010

Veer (2010) New

Author: Roso Posted by:23.01.09 Filed Under:

In a scene from the film, Salman Khan fractures his leg and limps almost for one full reel. But in real life, one can say Salman ne apne hi paav par kulhadi maar lee (hit the axe on his own leg). The ordinary story he pens doesn’t do justice to the immense intensity he adds to his performance. Salman is marred and let down by his own self. Veer opens in 1862 though it resorts to a 1980s kind of Bollywood treatment. Much over the usual Hollywood suspects – Braveheart, Gladiator or Troy it seeks references from epic dramas with a royal streak like Dharam Veer, Rajput and Raj Tilak from our very own Bollywood stock. The story comes close of Amitabh Bachchan’s Mard (1985) minus Manmohan Desai’s trademark lost-and-found formula which is substituted with too much of Bollywood song-and-dance drama. Prithvi Singh (Mithun Chakravarthy) heads the Pindari community who were once betrayed by the Raja of Madhavgarh (Jackie Shroff). Prithvi’s son Veer (Salman Khan) continues to rebel against Madhavgarh and the British empire in India. Expectedly it’s love-at-first sight with the Raja’s daughter, Princess Yashodhara (Zarine Khan). With younger brother Punya (Sohail Khan), Veer goes to London to get English gyaan that will help his clan. Predictably he stumbles upon Yashodhara at the university and the epic veers towards campus romance. Back in India, Yashodhara takes charge of her kingdom and is pitted against their enemy – the Pindaris lead by Veer. What follows is love and war though the treatment is more formulaic than fair. Evidently designed as a project to glorify his heroism, Salman Khan is the single reason you sit through the film. Sadly Salman can’t solely substitute for the abundant ambiguities in the film. Writer Shaktimaan fails to develop Salman’s story into a compelling screenplay falling prey to outmoded clichés and the film merely ends up being a love story between two warring families with the age-old revenge angle thrown in for good measure.

"Bhavnao Ko Samjho" literally translated to 'understand the emotions' starts with a multi-millionaire, Himmatlal, who has lost his elder son and daughter-in-law in an accident and is survived by his grand daughter Suman and younger son Sunderlal.

Sweet and young Suman being his pet and Sunder being his worry, as he is a proper spoilt creature and a good for nothing drunkard.

After the death of Himmatlal the whole property, according to the will, gets transferred to the grand daughter Suman, who was studying abroad and Sunderlal is left wanting.

Thus he starts making every possible effort to get back the property on his name. He makes all the wrong promises and compromises to get back what he felt was rightfully his and thus goes to limits to attain it.

In his quest to do so he meets weird characters like the marriage guru Vivah and the money lender Daya who collectively become responsible in sending fake proposals for the girl.

Together they hunt for a guy who would be a puppet in Sunder's hands and thus let the property becomes his. As both of them too have selfish interests in Sunderlal's property.

But luck favours not, as all the puppets sent by them are bounced by a cleaver trick used by none other than Suman's silent lover Shekhar. Shehkar knows the uncle's plans and thus cunningly becomes responsible for the fiasco all the time.

This game makes all the characters in the films suffer and go to extends to get their job done.

This war between the two groups, leads to innumerable laughter filled situations and happenings in the lives of the characters involved.

What finally happens in this unique quest for money makes film entertainingly hilarious.

my name is khan

Rizwan Khan, afflicted withAsperger's Syndrome , sets out on a historic journey to meet the US President, when his world takes a somersault after 9/11. His wife, Mandira, meanwhile tries to cope with her grief and come to terms with the new racially-divided reality. t's Khan, from the epiglotis (read deep, inner recesses), not `kaan' from the any-which-way, upper surface. In other words, it's the K-factor -- Karan (Johar) and Khan (Shah Rukh) -- like you've never seen, sampled and savoured before. My Name is Khan is indubitably one of the most meaningful and moving films to be rolled out from the Bollywood mills in recent times. It completely reinvents both the actor and the film maker and creates a new bench mark for the duo who has given India some of the crunchiest popcorn flicks. This time round, it's a whole new mantra for the two moguls and the Indian movie industry per se which might henceforth go something like: My name is Bollywood and I'm not just an entertainer. I have a whole lot to say and I'll say it in style....

RAAN

Rann [2010] PDVDRip - XviD Direct Download Mediafire
Author: Roso Posted at:28.01.10 Filed Under:

Ramgopal Varma has always been experimental in his movies; no matter whether they clicked or not in the box office. His latest movie, ‘Rann’ falls into his collection of unconventional movie plotted out of the modern dilemmas. Though the movie seems to be based on the often-told story of politics versus media, the presentation of the plot makes the movie stand out. The movie is all about the media business which in modern day seems to be slipping from the moral code of ethics. Ramu brings out the present craze for sensational news in the media industry which is now considered to be the fastest means to produce revenue.

Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rann’ may make you feel like seeing another ‘Sarkar’. The movie has a strong theme and is made with the best intention to portray the evils revolving in the society. The movie may sound too idealistic to some but can be a right choice for the thinking viewers. The movie has a serious tone and it goes well with the requirements of the movie.
Harshvardhan Malik (Amitabh Bachchan) owns a news channel which runs on the principle of morals and ideals. Malik believes in presenting the true news and not creating news just to win public. However, his son Jai Malik (Sudeep) runs with the trend and takes media as a source to fill one’s pocket. He joins hand with the opposition leader Mohin Pandey (Paresh Rawal) and uses his channel to conspire against the ruling Prime Minister. Purab (Riteish Deshmukh) steps in to get into the truth of the issue.
Though ‘Rann’ starts very impressively, it begins to lack conviction as it progresses. The end becomes quite predictable and thus the movie lacks the suspense factor. One can easily draw a similarity between the climatic twist in this flick and that of ‘Page 3’. Dialogues are crisp and effective. Amit Roy’s cinematography makes a clear impression in the movie. Since it is a serious genre movie, music restrains itself to the background and it does this for good.
